Henry Goodyere 1500's m. Jane Greene
I am wondering if you know the mother and father of a Jane
Greene (Grene) (b. 1518?), whose Coat of Arms was: Az. a chev. between three bucks trippant or., which I believe is the Greene/De Greene Coat of Arms. She married Henry Goodyere (Goodere), Alderman of London, whose will was
probated P.C.C. 14 Dec 1556 (this info was in a book called "Monken Hadley" (a Goodyere estate), by Frederick Cass, published in 1880).They had a daughter Anne Goodere (b. 1544) who married Henry Cooke and had a son Edmund
Cooke. The line continues down thru Elisha Kibbe whose daughter Rachel (b.1688) married Jonathan Bush, Jr, and then to my 3rd G/Grandmother Editha Bush, daughter of Milton.
I discovered two family trees on-line that have Jane, who married Goodere, listed as Richard Greene's daughter, son of Robert, son of John, who was the son of Thomas De Greene and so on down the line to Alexander, but there is a problem with the birth dates. One shows Jane, b. abt 1518,
with her father's birth date after her's (Richard b. abt 1527), which could not be possible, unless they made a mistake and put his death date as his birth date. The other does not have dates for Jane or Richard.
Any help on this Jane Greene would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Judy
