1915 Benton Co Iowa, Vinton Twp, image 1412, Ferris Goodwin, Benton co, Retired, born Indiana, age 80, 6th grade education, can read and write, 60 years living in Iowa, widower, Civil War veteran, 27th Ill Infantry, Company F., parents born in Penn.

He filed for a pension for his service, it appears to be failed on Feb 12 1863/1883, (third figure not clear) Application # 10430, certificate # 143-844. ( with the low number on the application it is possibly 1863.

I have noticed a older Nelson Goodwin around Decatur Indiana, which might be related, perhaps the father of Richard?? Not much help, but I hope some of it is new.
