Aaron Goodsen in Craven and Dobbs County, North Carolina
Does anyone have an Aaron Goodsen who was alive in 1775? Also looking for James Goodson/en. William Fookes "Fukes" was a cousin. William's decendents from Craven and Dobbs Counties ended up in the Burke, Lincoln and Iredell Counties.
William “Fukes” of Craven County who left a will dated June 1775.We can assume by the dates that William is the brother of John Sr., of John Jr. of our William Fookes of Montgomery County.William left his furniture to his cousin, Aaron Goodsen and his “wearing clothes” to James Goodsen. This is important in proving the connection to Dobbs/Lenoir County Fookes/Folks, “it is my will and desire that my land lying & being in Dobbs County & on the Beaverdam Branch adjoining William Taylor (Absalom Taylor witnessed the will of John Fookes Sr. 1775) containing one hundred and ninety acres to be sold at pubick venue ……and money owed to me by Samuel Hill be equally divided between my beloved sisters namely, Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah Fukes.
