Goodrum family in Wilkes Co., GA
I was in the library yesterday, doing research on another line in Georgia, when I tripped over this.It caught my eye because I also descend from Goodrums, but not this line.I copied some of the information in case it would be useful to others.
Please note: This is an extract of an extract.I took only the names, and the location information. If you are intersted, you should be able to contact Wilkes Co. and get a copy of the primary source based on the information provided by Mrs. Smith.
Found in Early Georgia Wills and Settlements of Estates; Wilkes County, by Sarah Quinn Smith, on page 41.
DANIEL, JANE E., will date May 23, 1847, evidently probated May 26, 1847:
Named legatees:
Grandchildren:
Andrew C. McJUNKIN
Sarah A. McJUNKIN
(their mother is not named)
Grandchildren:
James C. GOODRUM
Mary J. GOODRUM
Emeline E. GOODRUM
these arespecified as being the children of the deceased's daughter, Emeline E. GOODRUM
Sons:
Robert C. DANIEL (exceutor)
Samuel E. DANIEL
Daughter:
Mary C. BUTLER, wife of Edmond M. BUTLER.
There is some mention of the division of the bulk of the property, but in the extract form it doesn't give a clear picture. If you really have an interest in the full context, you're better off to seek a copy of the will from Wilkes County than to look at the book. That said, it's not hard for me to get to thebook, and I would be glad to make a photocopy for anyone who is willing to pay for postage.
