I'm so glad I was "surfing the net" and found your message about Thomas Jefferson Goodrum!I would love to read the book, "Josh Bean and God", and/or see the Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie. My grandmother, Emma Jane Goodrum (fa. Benjamin Franklin Goodrum, grandfa. Wm. Buck Goodrum) refused to go to church again when she "got away" from Houston Co.But she let us know there certainly was a God.I remember her telling of (I forgot who!) baking the wafers for church services and covering the platter with a snow white cloth. Those Church of Christ Campbellites treated her and younger sister Dixie cruelly after her parents died!Knowing some of them were fanatics makes it a little easier to understand their behaviour.
I can't seem to fit Thomas Jefferson Goodrum into my family tree. Please help me out! He's not in the list of children I have for Wm. B. and Mary Dixie (Richards) Goodrum.
Nice to know you,
Betty
