According to the Hyde Genealogy (1864), p. 264, Elizabeth Goodrich Gilbert, dau of John Gilbert & Cynthia Hyde, b. 27 Jan 1800 at Mansfield,CT, married her second cousin, Dr. George O. Gilbert of Hebron. "He was a physician, and they settled at Bennington, Vt., where he pursued his profession for several years. They afterwards moved to Pulaski, N.Y., where she d. 12 Jan 1850. He survived her, and was living at Kenosha, Wis., in 1859. They had eight children: 1. George O. 2. John H. 3. Charles G. 4. Alfred H. 5. William H. 6. Julius A. 7. Mary E. 8. Abby F." Their marriage is recorded at Mansfield, but they were apparently living in Providence, Rhode Island, where their intentions were published by Rev. James Wilson of the Beneficent Congregational Church. I haven't determined his parentage, though I'd suspect he was the son of George Oliver and Theodora (Gilbert) Gilbert of Hebron. I'm tracking the descendants of John Gilbert. Notify Administrator about this message?
