I just returned from the National Archives in DC and I may have some news for you. I made copies of about 100 documents and am currently transcribing them. My gg grandmother remarried and I have a copy of the marriage license and affdt. Here is what I have so far:
W.H. Goodman of Powhatan, in the County of Lawrence, aged 47, and Elizabeth A. Ishmael, of Washington Township, in the county of Sharp, and State of Arkansas, aged 32 years.
Date is 18th of June 1877.
There are more events, including some pension fraud on my gg grandmother with more Goodman's that stepped forward to help. I know this is not Searcy County, but I also know that my people moved in and around Searcy County as well.
If these could be your Goodmans let me know and I will keep you posted as a I transcribe. I am big on sharing.
