Hi all,
I am new to the forum. I am looking for information on my Grandfather who was born Edwin Goodman then adopted and his name was changed to "Edward Earl Campbell (Edwin Goodman), adopted son of Samuel Campbell and Mary Dougherty who was born on October 30, 1905, and died on October 4, 1958."
He was born in Wilcox, Elk County, Pennsylvania, October 30, 1905.
He died in Ohioville, Pennsylvania, October 4, 1958 of liver cancer.
He had 6 siblings who were also adopted out but in pairs. My grandfather was the only one adopted by himself. I don't know the names of the siblings but there were, I am told, equal numbers of brothers and sisters, 3 of each. All we know is that there was an alcoholic father and they couldn't afford to keep the children and put them up for adoption. All of that is oral history.
