Doris, your post seems to resolve a puzzle about Arthur that I don't believe I had seen from any other researcher's information.
1830: Arthur Goodman in Hart Co., KY Census, age 40-50, wife age 30-40, three male children, six female children, three being under age 5. The wife seems to be 1st wife Marium, based on difference in ages between Arthur and wife, and this seems to agree with the bible dates in your post.
1840: Arthur Goodman in Greyson Co., KY Census, age 50-60, wife age 50-60, one son 15-20, one dau. 10-15. This seems to be 2nd wife Hannah, based on their similar ages in this census.
1850: Arther (sp in census) Goodman, age 63, wife Hannah age 63, Elizabeth age 23, listed in Greyson Co. KY US Census, HH681. Also in same HH, but on following page, are Anna Raymer 23, with her son Byus(?sp), 5, and dau. Elizabeth, 3. This could not be Anna E. Goodman b. 1815, dau of Arthur and wife Marium, as listed in their bible, who would have been 35 in 1850. Anna Raymer must have been a daughter of Hannah Goodman and her 1st husband, whoever that may have been. Plus, Marium's birth date is listed as 1795 in the family bible, so she would have been only 53 in 1850. Therefore, Marium Goodman must have died some time before 1840, and Hannah must have been a 2nd wife of Arthur, much closer to his age than Marium was, and they married some time before 1840.
1860: Arthur, aged 74, listed w/ son Amos Goodman in Greyson Co., KY Census. Occupation shown as Carpenter.
Therefore, unless you have some other information establishing that Marium and Hannah are the same person, it seems that Arthur Goodman and 2nd wife Hannah probably did not have any children of their own, and all of the children I have previously seen attributed to Arthur and Hannah should actually be attributed to Arthur and 1st wife Marium. Do you agree with this?
