Henry Garrett Goodloe b. 1755 Caroline Co., VA d. 1801, md. Ann Strother, daughter of Christopher and Ann Kemp Strother who moved to Franklin Co., NC abt. 1750 from VA.Henry Garrett Goodloe was buried with his cousin Henry and his uncle Capt. Robert Goodloe at the latter's home place in Granville co., NC .....all in unmarked graves....according to a letter from Theodore Hinton Goodloe to Granville Goodloe.
Garrett & Ann Goodloe had:
William Henry Goodloe b. 1778 Franklin Co., NC d. 1861 md. abt. 1803 Elizabeth Mebane b. 1787 Orange Co., NC d. 1859, daughter of Hon. Alex Mebane of NC.Their son Wm. Henry moved about 1847 from Orange Co., VC to Madison Co., MS.
William Henry Goodloe b. 1816-1890 md Clary Thompson 1810-1863.They moved to Madison Co., MS
Children:
Marshall Goodloe 1838-1862 Killed at Sharpsburg, MD.
Julia Ann Goodloe 1839-1924 md. James Allen Bennett....they are buried in the Goodloe Cem., near Mannsdale/Livingston in Madison Co., MS.

NOTE:John Henry wrote 7 Dec. 1892 from his home at Flora, MS to Granville Goodloe..." My grandfather's name was Wm. Henry Goodloe, born in Franklin co., NC.My grandmother was Eliz. Mebane of Orange Co., NC.My father's name was Wm. Henry Goodloe.He was from Orange Co., NC and he moved to this state in the fall of 1847.I had two brothers and two sisters; both brothers are dead and one sister.Neither of my brothers were md.My oldest brother Marshall was killed at Sharpsburg, MD in 1862.My older brother and sister died young.My living sister Julia md. Mr. Bennett and has three children living, all about grown.I am md., no children.
Robert John Goodloe....8th child of Wm. Henry and Eliz. Mebane b. 1830 d. 1912 b. Orange Co., NC d. in Madison Co., MS.md. 1856 Julia Hodge.

Mary Frances, Elise, Robert Mebane, Claude B. & Julia.
NOTE:Robert J. Goodloe wrote from his home in Livingston, Madison Co., MS on 12 June 1893 to Granville Goodloe... "Aunt Ann Left one or two boys, I think.If she did, they are (if living) near Clinton, AL.Uncle Bob had a house full of children.Uncle Bob and Uncle French went to AL, they lived near Clinton, AL........I have two children living, a son Claude B. and a daughter Julia who is at school at Lexington, MS.We have a granddaughter eight yrs old...the mother died when she was eight months old and we are raising her."
