Hello,
I, too, am a descendent of George Gooding who came from England to Dighton, MA. A great deal of the Gooding genealogy is available. An ancestor of mine, Melvin Jones, wrote a book entitled "Genealogy of Jones, Hathaway, Richards, Gooding" in 1934 and it is available from www.biblio.com. There are a number of Simmons mentioned in the book. Let me know if there is anyone in particular you'd like to know more about.
Have you checked out Bristol, NY? This is where many of the Goodings went when they left New England. From there, I believe they went to Michigan and Ohio.
