Hi Brenda,
I'm also searching for Simeon Gooding/Goodwin born in SC, but I have a birth date of 1819. I believe there were at least three Simeon Gooding/Goodin/Goodwins in SC around this time.
My Simeon ended up in Pierce County, GA about 1850 and lost an arm in the Civil War. Does this sound like your Simeon Gooding? Died in 1901 and had sons named Miles and Lawrence?
