Unlikely I know but would your wife have any information on an Ide Gooding (known in the family as "Jim") born Rainham 1897?

Eldest son of Herbert Ide Gooding and Amy Peacock who had married at Rainiham in August 1893. Other children were Amy b 1899 and Herbert b 1901.

Ide/Jim was killed in action in Belgium in Oct 1917.

Probably cousins (how distant?) to your mother-in-law?
