This is not my Goodin line but found in my records Alvin Haywood Goodin, born 1843 and died in 1917 in Iredell County, North Carolina. He married Pelina Isabella Shaver. Pelina may well be Perlina. I do not have any of his descendants but his parents were Zachariah B. Goodin and Meeky Dorcas Sloan, both of Iredell County, North Carolina. Your H. A. Goodin was probably Alvin's brother Hugh A. Goodin born to the same parents in 1837. Alvin had another brother, Anderson Dawson Goodin which may well indeed be your D. A. with the name switched. He was born in May of 1836. I have a little more information on the parents of these 3 boys including the parents of Meeky and the name of the boys' sister. Please email me if you need more. Understand that this is information I have collected on the Goodin surname over the years. I have no proof and can't tell you it's source. I am more of a collector of information than a genealogist.

Best regards
William E. Goodin
