You are realted to my family line Kerry & I have all the info you are looking for.
Nicholas father James Goodhew was born 20 Dec 1811 at East Malling, Kent & his mother Jane RUSSELL(original spellings come up under Rufsell/Rusfell)born 1808 Teston/East Malling, Kent. They were married 9NOV 1830 at Teston, Kent England Malling. I too have not gone back any further than James as far as getting parents and the Mary G you are referring to is basically just Mary Goodhew and I agree that she may not have been married. You basically have the list of kids fairly right with birth years though a couple are a bit off. The only set of twins is Nicholas & James sharing the same birth registered year. All other birth years are independant. I have Jane Russell mothers name and she too was unmarried Dinah (Rufsell) RUSSELL. Just querying if Nicholas went to NZ in 1872 with son Earl b 1863 (UK I assume) how come he then married in NZ which would have taken place after 1872??? What happened to Earls mother in UK?
Cheers, Wendy
