Hello All, one from Dunedin, New Zealand here ! The definite I know is that i am descended from Nicholas b 1835 m Louisa Millar, East Malling, Kent. They sailed for NZ, Lyttleton on the "Waikato" 1872 with at least one son Earle George G. b 1863 m Hester Eliza Kennedy (of "The Kennedy's - USA !) at Taheke, Hokianga, NZ. It is "indicated" from sources that Nicholas' parents were James b 1809 (1811?), m Jane Russel E.Malling 1830? b 1811, Teston. I have no "father" record for James and only various sources that mother was Mary G., no birth date or anything else. If she was around teenage to 20 when she gave birth she should have a birth record around 1789 to 1794 if this James b 1809 was her only or eldest son! I have tried going back up through some of James & Jane's other children without success. Maybe some of you are expert at searching (I am a rank beginner!) The sibling list starts with a likelihood of twins! James b 1835 Nicholas b 1835 Jane Elizabeth b 1837 Stephen b 1840 Emily b 18342 William b 1846 Charles b 1849 Richard Henry b 1851 Alfred b 1856 Henry Amos b 1856 (twins again?) Thomas b 1831 (this was a surprise on the list with the oldest listed last! ? m Jane b 1833 ? Found another Thomas 1831, mother Hannah G. b.1810 Age 81 census 1891 ???) Was the eponymous Mary Goodhew unmarried? Who then was her father? Any help greatly appreciated to go to and beyond Mary. Regards KJG Notify Administrator about this message?
