I recently looked at a copy of "The Crockett Family and Connecting Lines",Notable Southern
Families", Vol V (Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. Baltimore, 1974)
compiled by JP French andZella Armstrong. On page 329 of volume five are
John and Rebeckah (Hawkins) Crockett and their children who are listed as
1. _____ b. abt 1778 or 1779,
2. James born 1780,
3. William born 1782,
4. Wilson born 1784,
5. David born 1786,
6. son,
7. daughter,
8. daughter,
9. daughter.
2. James born 1780,
3. William born 1782,
4. Wilson born 1784,
5. David born 1786,
6. son,
7. daughter,
8. daughter,
9. daughter.
There is,in fact, nothing in the book that says anything about Sarah Crockett being the daughter of John and Rebecca (Hawkins) Crockett or a sister of Davey.
