Odd coincidence, indeed, Richards' father's name is Edward, according to the Marriage record..? And, it shows 'Va', as his home state. Initially, it was spelled 'Good', and toward the 1890's, the surname took on an 'E'. I will assume he was Blond and blue eyed,(outta 4 sons, 1 blond, 1 red head, the other 2 raven fine raven haired.....what a blend! as my grandfather, who died a number of years before I was born. Richard was dead before my grandfather John was 4, so, he didn't recall him, and was raised by one of his numerous sisters. Someone had to be an entertainer. I've been on TV, Broadway, numerous nat'l/Int'l commercials, print ads and vo's...and no one else in the family has, definitely not my Mom's side..oh well, the hobby for the search continues!
