There is some confusion over who Thomas Goode, son of Joseph Goode, married. According to the 1850 census of Lumpkin Co, GA, Thomas is married to Martha. I'm sure this is Martha Key, daughter of William Bibb Key. His daughter, Margaret Key, married Nicholas Goode of Newton Co, GA, also a son of Joseph Goode.
Lets go back and see if I can clairfy the line as I have it. Edward1 Goode, of Four Mile Creek in Henrico Co, VA, immigrated from England to the colonies in the mid 1600's, father unknown. He was NOT the son of Samuel, the son of John Goode of Whitby. Edward1 had a son Edward2. Edward2 had a son Edward3. Edward3 had a son Joseph. Joseph had sons Abraham, Nicholas, and Thomas. Thomas and Martha Key Goode had 7 children that I know of. James Clark Goode was born in ca1820 in NC and married Cornelia Ann Hooper in 1842. They had 4 children that I know of at this time. All of this will be in Vol 1 (Edward Goode of Four Mile Creek) of the series of Books I am doing on the Goode Family, hopefully by the end of this year. Vol 2 (John Goode of Whitby) is complete and available for sale. Hope this helps.
