Hi - I saw your post - the only Mary Benton I show even close is the daughter of Jesse Benton and Ann (Nancy) Hart Gooch, a sister of the Thomas Hart Benton who was the senator from Missouri. This Mary was born in 1780; I have no mention of a marriage for her. She was my GGGG Aunt. I hope this helps, and doesn't add to the confusion -
