In Reply to: Sarah Gooch, b. ca. 1742, of ME, had bro. John by Roberta Bratti of 1276

Sarah was daughter of John and Elizabeth (Boothbay) Gooch of Wells, Maine. They were prominant in Wells; John was Constable in 1736. He may have been involved in lumber/sawmill businesses. The family seems to have had interest in a mill (built 1753) at Gooch's Falls in North Yarmouth along the Royal River.
I have a little more on Sarah's ancestry if you're still interested. If you have found info on John & Elizabeth and Gooch ancestry, I'm especially interested in Sarah's Aunt Mary (Gooch) Goodwin whose husband George and son William drowned in North Yarmouth in 1748.
