(Please write me directly at mahard@jps.net if you want a direct answer, I do not check the message boards on a regular basis.)

There are several Gooch families in Wake County. Although I am not familiar with the people you mentioned and without any vital statistics to the names you give it would be difficult to hazard a guess. I do have quite a bit of information on the families in Granville County. Your line might be from Daniel Terry Gooch (1807-1895) who had a son Robert Hester Gooch who raised a large family in Wake County. There was also a Daniel (T or F) Gooch who was in Granville up to about 1815, he married Mary the daughter of Henry Green (died 1810). This Daniel may have gone to Wake or Orange County. There was also a Daniel Joseph Gooch (born 1845) who married Alice Currin and raise a very large family; he lived in Oxford.

I would suggest you establish at least a birth year of each of the people you mention using the State records or census records. NC probate records are excellent and there should be records telling you how each estate was settled and who the heirs were. If you can obtain some of this information and find a more clear connection with Granville, I might be able to help you. Good luck in your search.
