a) Arrived in Monterrey around 1645 as a miner in Valle de Los Salinas and was mayor of Monterrey in 1648.
b) Born in 1598, Moron de la Frontera, Sevilla, Spain, died in 1672.
c) First wife (1) was Catalina Gonzalez.
d) He married (2) Isabel Gomez Esquivel on January 16, 1639.
e) Children:
i) Andres Gonzalez de Esquivel, born 1642.
ii) Diego Gonzalez de Esquivel, born 1645.
f) In 1652, he married (3) Ana Garcia de Quintanilla (b. 1625 and d. 1684), daughter of Lucas Garcia Rodriguez and Juliana Quintanilla Farias.
g) Children:
i) Captain Bartolome Quintanilla II, born 1654.
ii) Alferez Nicolas Quintanilla, born 1656
ii) Sargento Mayor Joseph Quintanilla, born 1658
I can't remember what source I got it from. There is a book about the Gonzalez Family where I got some of my information from. I forgot what it's called but it has Bartolome Gonzalez in the title, and it's sold by Border Books. There was a good reason why I chose to use one piece of information over another, but it's been so long, that I can't remember. It wasn't that long ago, but being able to prove the information wasn't the reason why I did the research in the first place.
