The Gompfs of Tuscon, Arizona: Clarence & Avryl
Sometime around 1920, Callie Lewis, a young woman who would have become my grandaunt died, and her surviving husband, Clarence S. Gompf, married a woman named Avryl and moved to Tuscon, Arizona. I would be very interested in finding out Avryl's maiden-name. I would also be very interested in finding out the maternity of an Elenore (variously spelled Eleanor in other census forms) Gompf. She was born in 1919, a year after her father's first wife had died, but very likely before he remarried (illegitimate?). She is listed in the census in several different households of great-grandparents, grandparents and grandaunts and it gets mighty confusing as to who she belongs to. For instance, where she's listed with mygreat-grandparents as their daughter, they're listed as being in their sixties. I don't think so.
