Be sure to check out Goldston, Gholston, Gholstone,Golstone,Goldson, Gulston,
Goldstone, and other variations - I even found
Golston listed as HOLSTON in the 1880 US Census
on LDS/FAMILY SEARCH free site.
I have seen all of the above in various records, since there was no standardized spelling early on -
check out the various surnames under G on the GENFORUM
websites.
