I have been working on the Golliver Family Tree for over 20 yrs. The last three days I have devoted most of my time to research. What I have come up with is that the Golliver's and the Gulliver's are of the same family. There was a name change somewhere in the John Golliver/John Gulliver line. One of John Golliver's sons Alexander was the witness of a murder of a man (in a night brawl) and as such withness Daniel McGraft was found guilty and hung. From this it is believed/known that the Golliver Families moved to Western Ohio, with the name change to Golliver.
John Golliver/Gulliver was my gggrandfather, my ggrandfather was Tovanion Golliver, and my grandfather was Joesph Almon Golliver, and my Dad was Alonzo Tovanion Golliver.
I know that the middle to later part of the family lived in Paulding Co, Grover Hill, Ohio and some in Van Wert Co. Ohio, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Mich.
If anyone can add to this please e-mail me at:Ruth (Golliver) Andrew
