Hi Paul,

Thanks for your response. I am looking for directions to the cemetaries listed in my original inquiry because I have Golladay relatives buried there. My mother's maiden name was Golladay and we were wanting to visit our ancestor's graves. My grandfather was Roy Thomas Golladay (1890-1970).
His pedigree is as follows:

Roy T. Golladay, John Anderson Golladay (1860-1940), Thomas Benton Golladay (1836-1920), Frederick Augusta Golladay (1815-1884), Frederick Golladay (1786-1871), David Golladay (1759-1823), Jacob Golladay (abt. 1735-1795), Joseph Golladay (abt. 1713-1758).

Roy was the 3rd child of 10. I have a hand written letter (dated Nov. 8, 1983) from his sister Blanche (b. 1901, 8th child) that lists a William (b. 1899, 7th child) as a brother. This obviously isn't your William since according to the information given he was born about 1840. I have looked through my files and do not have a William H. whose father is Adam Golladay. The only other William I have was the son of David Golladay(see above). He was born 1799 in Fort Valley, Shenandoah Co., VA, died 1870 in Montgomery Co., OH.

Most of my grandfather's relatives were from Grayson Co., KY and the Louisville, KY/New Albany, IN area. I have no idea where Backville, IN is but if it is in the New Albany area there is probably a connection (or there may be a connection even if it isn't near New Albany).

Check out the website:

Put in William Golladay w/ Adam Golladay as father. You will get some information. Keep in mind that information submitted to this website is subject to verification unless sources have been cited. The submitter's email addresses are listed if you want to ask them where the info. came from.

I hope you find this useful.
