Yes, my files have the following information for Granville Hays Golladay:
b. June 22, 1870, Grayson Co., KY
d. April 25, 1967 Louisville Jefferson Co.,
burial - unknown cemetery, Louisville, KY
I have a copy of a newspaper article that I believe is from the Louisville Courier-
Journal. There isn't a date on it but by using the dates mentioned in the article
and his birthdate, it was about 1958. The main subject of the article was Granville and Octavia's 65th wedding anniversary. He was 88 at the time and she was 85. It has a picture of them standing near their garden.
The article refers to him as G. H.
Am I correct that your files show Frederick Augusta (b ca 1812) and Mary Elizabeth Pearson (b 24 June 1812)as John Anderson and Mary Margaret's parents? If so, that isn't correct. They are the parents of:
Thomas Benton (1836-1920)
John Pearson (1838-1918)
Martha Charlotte (1840-1924)
Sarah Ellen (1843-1936)
Samuella (Ella) (1845-1932)
Eugenia Tillman (1850-1921)
James Edlo (1852-1894)
Warner T. (1855-abt.1880)
Thomas Benton and Mary (Polly) Nichols were the parents of:
John Anderson (1860-1940)
Mary Margaret (1864-1899)
Thomas Walter (1868-1928)
Granville Hays (1870-1967)
Isham Frederick (1872-1873)
Robert Leo (1874-1874)
I also have a letter dated Nov 8, 1983 that was written to my mother (Imogene Golladay Gibbs) from Blanche Golladay(one of John Anderson's daughters). It was a reply to a letter asking for genealogy information. In it she says, "Thomas Benton Golladay 1st child of Fred Golladay Jr & Mary Pearson was borne (sic) Sept. 15 1836 in Virgina (sic) he married Mary (Polly) Nichols borne (sic) July 10 1835 dau. of Isham Nichols & Mary Sutton Thomas Benton Golladay served in the Union Army in the Civil War as a Waggoner he file for Pension Nov. 22 1879 he returned to Grayson Co. where he was a farmer. Wife Mary died July 15th 1905 and is buried at Rock Creek Church Grayson Co. Thomas Benton Golladay died June 1 1920 is buried at the Petty Cemetry (sic) Big Clifty."
I have most of the other information that you mention in your reply and it pretty much matches up with yours. Most of mine, though, comes from information on the internet and I don't have documentation to support it. I do feel certain, however, about the information going back through Thomas Benton Golladay.
Thanks for sharing your information.
