Hello Johannes how lovey to hear from you my samuel was from England born about 1780's maybe earlier,he was a farmer and when he went to Jamaica about 1840's he owned acres of land then he went with a group of his brothers , his son Charles b 1818? stayed and settled in Liverpool England their are still many Goldsons living herei found a Samuel Goldson in Norfolk Englandbut he isn't my connectionI don't know if samuel had any other sons that went with him Charles married a widow named Elizabeth Jones nee Lewis this is where my family start they had ason named Robert Rowland b 1850 Liverpool he married Elizabeth Cain b 1852 Liverpool they had a son namesd Robert b 1877 Liverpool he married Louisa Hopkins b1881 liverpool they had a daughter Louisa ( my nan) b 1903 Liverpool she married James RF Hyamson b 1897 Tranmere , they had a daughter named Dorothyb 1932 Liverpool she married john J Quinn and they had me Joyce Quinn i haven't yet gone in to deep research in to the Goldsons so maybe William could have been a grandson of Samuel or one of his brothers I do hope so i did see on the net once that a Mormon researcher who wrote a and researched a book about Goldsons found that the gOLDSON WAS ONE FAMILY SPREAD ABOUT AND WHERE DIRECT DESCENDANTSOF MARGARET qUEEN OF SCOTTS .
