Hi Roger,
just received your reply this is great news do you know where in england your goldsons came from would they have to leave for jamaica via liverpool docks my grandmother was louisa Hyamson nee goldson her father was robert goldson b1877 Toxteth park Liverpool his father was Robert Rowland Goldson b1850 Liverpooland his father was Charles Goldson b1818 ? he married 1848 Liverpool to Elizabeth Lewis b1826 Manchester daughter of Robert Lewis, and charles father was samuel who was a farmer but I can't find any trace of him in Liverpool or England,I know there are George /charles / strongly in the family and their is a connection with the jewish as in a jewish cemetry there is a Samuel Goldson aged 7 yrs buried there, I know that my great grandfather Robert who died 1936 had to trace family tree sometime and always said he was brought up by the wrong family what ever that meant !What did the goldson brother do when they went to westmoreland did they farm ,my great grandfather his mother was related to cains brewers of fine ale in Liverpool.
and I guess all goldsons have the nack of being clever as my gran would say.
