Eric, this looks very promising. Thanks you very much. I have searched everywhere and decided to try this avenue. I will check it out and get back with you. Her name was Carrie but the way it is spelled it could be anyway. But I will check it out.
I know Holgate quite well as I was born there 1940, across from the fire station, and my grandparents lived there for about 500 years it seemed. They lived over on Beyer Street right next to the train tracks. My uncle Bobby worked on the railroad. They would pick him up early in the morning and drop him off right at the door step every day. He was so brown you would think he was an Indian. The old house is not there anymore as my grandmother had it torn down and she lived in a trailer. There were some might long trains going by there all hours of the day.
