I have no direct information.
I would however suggest that you check "Maryland to Kentucky". I suspect that this person may have started in Maryland and gone to Kentucky and then to Missouri. (Or at least his family.) There was a move of Maryland Catholics to Kentucky just after the Revolution. Later some of the families moved on to Missouri. In St. Mary's County Maryland, Bennett is found as a last name and a first name. Also John B. is usually found as John Baptist and was a common first and middle name for St Mary's Catholic families.
