I believe this is the same Martin Goldsberry that shows up for a brief time in Garrard County, Ky where my ancestors are--My ancestors being Mack/Mark and his sons; John, Henry, Cleavers, Charles and James. My ancestors were often listed as Goldsberry, Goolsbury, etc. etc in Kentucky but by the 1850's had consistently started using the Goldsborough spelling. I have felt that Martin may have some connection to my ancestors but I have absolutely no proof. I believe several Goldsberry researchers have some pretty good theories that Martin's father is a Jonathan but I don't have any more details than that. Good Luck.
