GOLDSBERRY FAMILY WEBSITE ?

For those of you that are recently seeking GOLDSBERRY family history, relatives and ancestors, you may not be aware that a NATIONAL GOLDSBERRY FAMILY GATHERING was held in Aug 2002 on the Univ. of Northern Colo. campus in Greeley, CO. In conjunction, a website was established to show the 40+ Early Ancestor lines that have been identified in America. The developer of the Goldsberry data base that is in America ( larger than the Mormon Church's) is Eric Hovemeyer of Cincinnati, OH. Several people that attended the Goldsberry2002 Gathering obtained complete printouts of their line...

The Goldsberry2002 committee recommended that the website be retained and expanded to include "stonewalls", research projects, tips and leads.... and many other timely materials. Shortly after the GATHERING in Aug 2002, a survey was sent to more than 300 people with the surname Goldsberry asking if they would help maintain a web site and assist in research in early VA, WV, MD, IN, OH and other areas that have been identified as the location of the earliest known Goldsberry families that existed in America. The Goldsberry Surnamed people in England, Scotland and other areas should also be researched. The committee felt a planned research program would eliminate all the highly duplicated searching and save people money.

Only 4 people responded to the survey and only ONE provided $10 as suggested per year dues... The site was closed because no one wanted help with the associated costs or even show an interest by thanking those responsible. Now the question.... is such an organized research effort and specialized, informative website worth considering ???

At this point in time... no one knows the true proven derivation of the name, when or where the first Goldsberry came to America, who they were or how all of the earlist 40+ Ancestoral lines fit together! ! ! ! Why not ? ?? ? FRIENDS... THESE ARE FOUR STONEWALLS ALL ROLLED INTO ONE !!
