Well, I just asked a fellow in another post about your web site that he mentioned in his post. I should have read down to the next message to see that it was from you!

I've been told that the Conrad Goldman who came to America in 1709 had a daughter named Mary, born c. 1703, who married Frederick Staring/Starnes/Stearns. Frederick is said to have come to NY in 1710, with his father, Adam, and uncles, Nicholas and Valentine, and other unspecified family members. (His mother is thought to have died on the ocean crossing.) Frederick was born c. 1700, and he and his wife May would have been married around 1721, per the birth of their first child in c.1722. In your other message, you mention an Anna Margarethe (Mary) born in 1708. This is too young to be Mary, the wife of Frederick Staring/Stearns.

Could there have been a Mary Goldman born about 1703, or is what I've been told wrong? I am told that Mary Goldman's brothers went to Pennsylvania, and the Stearns family later joined them there briefly. Frederick Stearns is supposed to have been named executor of Jacob Goldman's will in 1750.

Frederick and Mary were in Virginia by 1740. Two of their sons, Frederick, Jr. (c.1724-1779) and Joseph (c.1730-1779), were killed on the Kentucky frontier in an Indian massacre in April 1779. Their widows and children settled on land they had in Mecklenburg Co., NC.
