Henry Golden, Columbia Co., GA in 1779
On a Columbia Land Grants Map, there was a Henry Golden (C840), date looks like 1797, with Ig. Few.Some other names that may be related on it are GRAY, PARKS, SCOTT, & WALTON and these names show up in a 1800 Lincoln Co., GA census.
Anyone have information on this Henry Golden?
Would he be the same who married Sarah Newsome in c1760?
In a GA Memorial of 1758-1776:
1774 Henry Golden, 200ac - St. Paul's Parish (Columbia) Signed by Alexander Scott for Henry Golden.
In the GA Archives Headright Plats:
1759 John Golding - Parish? - 300ac
1760 Sarah Golding - Parish? - 300ac
1784 John Golding - Wilkes - 550ac - Savannah River
1785 William Golding - Wilkes - 240 - Soap Creek
(I believe this Wm. was s/o John Golden d:1801 by deed in Lincoln Co)
1788 Henry Goldin - Wilkes - 500ac - Rocky Comfort Creek
1804 William Golden, Sr. - Lincoln - 300
Since Lincoln Co., GA, was split off from Wilkes Co. in 1796, I believe those who were on the line ended up in Lincoln County.Richmond Co. of 1790 was divided into Columbia Co., by 1800 on a boundary map of GA.
Warren Co., GA had Goldens' that I have a short list of and is reported to be descended from a Henry Golden.
I saw a plat of George Dooly in Wilkes Co. in 1785 who's land is adj. to Wm. Golding and old (Abraham?) Golding; Abraham Bradley Esq., Sr.; Richardson; and Thomas Mosley.
Wilkes Co., GA Deed Book EE 1788-1790

Dooley settled ..... (Signed) Thomas Mosley. Wit: Richard Golden, John Williams, Wm. Golden.Wm. Golden saw Mosley deliver deed to John Golden, Jr.
Plat of Alexander Armstrong in Wilkes Co., 1785 on Rocky Comfort Creek with land adj. Henry Golden, Wm. Jones, Amos Wright (d:1800/Warren Co., m: Mary Jordan) and John Grantham.
Now, Henry is not mine that I know of and I don't want to mix these Golden families up, but I would like to try to place these Goldens into their separate family lines. Several in Lincoln Co., GA from 1800 to 1832 are mine, but I don't know where they they really came from.
If anyone knows, please send me an e-mail.
Thanks
