Is this the book, "Gold Generations in England and America" by Pleasant Daniel Gold?
There is a John Daniel GOLD listed on page 81, who had a Dtr Margaret Banes born in Wilson, NC in 1896. however, this book is not indexed, so I've not searched further. Could this be yours?
