Hi Brian,
sorry it took so long to take a look at the postings. I have not had a chance to do any further family history in long time. I would love to hear from anyone in this branch of the family. I tried to log on to take a look at the DNA test results but just kept getting an error message and was unable to take a look at your results. So would it be an imposition to ask about your test results? Were you able to discern anything regarding the race of Moses Going? Reason I'm asking is because I just find it so amazing that a free black man could marry a white woman in Georgia in 1799 with no problems concerning race so I am wondering if Samuel was of mixed race and if so what was his heritage on his father's side of the family. I have not been able to locate any male descendants of Samuel Going to try and get DNA testing done. I have always been told that this line of the family had Cherokee heritage. I have never seen any information posted about the father of Moses Going and am wondering could he have been a white man or a Native American. Would love to hear from you and get your opinion or further information if you have any on this branch of the family. Thanks very much
Penny
