Hi Shirley,
My earliest proven Going ancestor is Joseph Going born 1790 in Columbia Co., GA. He is my ggggrandfather. I believe he is a close relative, son-grandson-nephew-etc. of Moses and Agnes Going. They were in the area at the right time but I don't find any record of direct connections. Joseph Going born 1790 married Judith Kendrick in Columbia County, GA. There is record of Lucinda Going married Noel Kendrick (brother of Judith Kendrick) in Columbia County. I believe Lucinda Going was probably sister of Joseph Going but no firm proof.
The Kendrick family had many connections at this time to my Going family. They moved to Alabama and Arkansas.
My Going family stayed in Georgia.
When did your family move from Georgia to Kentucky? Do you know of any records for them in Georgia?
The names used a lot in my Going family are John, William, Joseph, James, Jessie, Samuel, Thomas, Richard,Nancy, Mary Jane, Frances
