I, too, have a GOFF-TRENT connection in my family. The similarity of some names suggests that it's more than coincidence. Here's the limited, direct-line information I have; any info you can provide to clarify or supplement this would be greatly appreciated.

Henry TRENT (1642-ca.1702) of Henrico Co., VA, married Elizabeth SHERMAN (ca.1650-?) and had a son, William (#1).

William(1) TRENT (1684-7 APR 1769) of Henrico Co., VA, married ? and had a son, William (#2).

William(2) TRENT (ca.1715-ca.1800) of Henrico Co., VA, married Sarah or Susannah BRYANT and had a son, Williamson. (Wm2 died in Hawkins Co., TN)

Williamson TRENT (ca.1770-24 MAR 1845) of VA married Nancy C. GOFF (ca.1772) of VA and had a daughter, Parthenia. (Williamson died in Menard Co., IL)

Parthenia TRENT (27 MAY 1805-13 JUL 1888) of Barren Co., KY, married Jefferson ORR (1803-20 DEC 1863) of VA.
