I know nothing of JOHANNES GOEBEL. My husband's g-grandfather came over in the 1850's; we're not even sure if original spelling is Gerbel or Gobel with umlaut over the "O" . . . when in Germany,we were told spelling of Gerbel is pronounced as Garebel, while pronounciation of Gerbel would be spelled as Gobel with umlaut. Reason I have copy of JOHANNES GOEBEL's passenger record is that it was on same page as my husband's g-grandfather's.
