I am not a goeble. but am very interested in Johannes Goebel, a Hessian soldier during the revoluntary war. He and my gg-etc.grandfather, Johann George Schimmel were captured together during the battle of Baton Rouge in the fall of 1779. They were imprisoned at Havana, Cuba. They escaped together from "prisoner of war status" at Havana on March 25, 1782. I know what happened to my ancestor but I wonder what happened to yours? Do you know or you can refer me to one of your family that might.
