He and my gg-etc.grandfather, Johann George Schimmel were captured together during the battle of Baton Rouge in the fall of 1779. They were imprisoned at Havana, Cuba. They escaped together from "prisoner of war status" at Havana on March 25, 1782. I know what happened to my ancestor but I wonder what happened to yours?
