LESLIE GOEBEL, 93, passed away Wednesday morning in a Longview hospital. He was born in Houston on September 15, 1909 to Edwin and Hattie Pless Goebel. Mr. Goebel was a longtime member of the Park place-Daylight Masonic lodge in Houston and a member of the Saint Andrews Methodist Church in Houston. He was a retired machine shop supervisor. Survivors include: son, Leslie D. Goebel and wife Paula of Longview; daughter, Gaynelle Howlin and husband Bill of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Cherise Michelle "Goebel" Steelman of Hallsville, Krystal Lynn Howlin of Denver, Colorado and Steven "Goebel" Moreland of Houston; great-grandchildren, Austin Taylor Skender of Hallsville, Courtney Blaire "Goebel" Moreland of Houston and Mason R. "Goebel" Moreland of Houston. In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by: wife, Emma Jean Goebel and one brother, Dennis Goebel of Catsprings, Texas. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home with Scott Schulk officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
