As far as I know William had no descendants. He married my g grandmother Edla Adelaide (Addie) Roberts just as the war was begining. They are in the 1860 census in Claiborne La. then he died of desease. I have since located a bible belonging to (Addie) and the marriage is registered in there (hard to read) may have been 1859) no births of children. She remarried in 1868 and my grandmother shows as her only child.
Do you believe his body was sent back to Ga. for burial to his parents rather than his wife? I dont know what they did at that time.
