So if I understand you correctly, you show Dicey married to Hugh Adkinson/Atkinson, but never married to a Rollo at all--correct? It seems very ironic that the Godbold family has a Jesse Godbold and the Rollo family has a Jesse Godbold Rollo who appear to be near the same age.

If Jesse Godbold was 38 years old in the 1850 census, then he was born ABT 1812. Our Jesse Godbold Rollo was born in 1809. Some of our researchers have said that he was born in the Sumter District or Marlboro County, SC.

Your Godbolds were also in SC, correct? I wonder if they could have been cousins? It seems like there is some connection--maybe it is neighbors, but then they should be on the census near one another.

The mystery of the Godbold/Rollo connection goes on! Thanks for the info. Wish I could travel to this area of SC and do some primary research myself.
