Peggy: Thanks for your note; Have you checked the US Census for Mary 1860 and 1870?, do you know what her husbonds name was? I am sure the William Melson in the 1880 Census is the same William Perry Melson, I would like to know the real story about him being born in Effingham Co IL, moving to Ellis Co TX and dying in Lawton TX...
