I could not get in to post but I have found extensive information on my Gobbel family, have found several who have changed name to Gobbel, Gobel and Goble. Found as far back as mid 1600's when they came from Germany but I dont know where in Germany. Much of the family ended up in Rowan County, NC in 1700's and from there spread out to Ky, Tn., Ark., Tex., Oregon and California. There is a book called Gobbel's of Rowan and I have managed to obtain a copy. I understand that my Greatgrandfather Isaac Harrison Gobbel was named after an uncle of the same name. That uncle also named a son Isaach Harrison Gobbel and that branch moved to Oregon in mid to late 1800's and he also wrote a book which I have not been able to find. Would like to hear from some of those that went to Oregon and would like to hear from anyone with knowlege of the book.
