I am researching the family of Jacob GOEBEL, born 27 May 1799 in Gellershausen, the son of Jacob Gobel and Barbara Catherine (Wiesemann), and his wife Sophie (Rabe). Children were:
Carl Heinrich, 1823-1896;
Catherine Elisabeth, born 1825;
Johann Jacob, b. 1827;
Johann Henrich Friedrich, born 25 April 1831 (came to America); Carl Christian Wilhelm, born 6 Oct 1833 (who I believe to be my ancestor);
Johann Carl William, born 1836;
Philipp Daniel, b. 1839 (also emigrated);
Caroline Dorothee Wilhelmine, 1842-1854
Carl Henrich Ludwig, 1847-1848
I am interested to correspond with others related to this Lutheran family. (Carl Christian, Johann Henrich and Philipp Daniel came to Cincinnati, Ohio area and then to Campbell and Kenton counties, Kentucky. Carl Christian Wilhelm Goebel served in the Civil War)
