I am responding to Lara Glymph's message about a Glymphille, S.C. I just wanted to say that I am a 46 year old African-American. My mother's maiden name is Glymph. Her father was born in Newberry, S.C. All of my life, I have heard about Glymphille from the older members of my mother's family.

Does anyone know if Glymphille is still in South Carolina?

Also, why are there so many Glymphs in South Carolina? Whenever we have met an African-American Glymph, they have roots in South Carolina.

Does anyone know if any Glymphs in South Carolina owned slaves?

Thanks for the information.
