If anyone has information on the following surnames please contact me as I am researching this lineage and putting together all the families in an index.
This particular name immigrated from what was once part of Russia in the city of Korostyshev and now is the Ukraine.
The members were from a family of 13 chidren of which four immigrated to the United States in the early 1900's.
They were Carl Cyril)born October 15, 1889, John(Jan)born August 25, 1879, Frank (Franz)Glowacz born August 22, 1873 and Anna (Glowacz) Bartkowiak born July 15, 1884 since she was already married TO Andrew (Andrez) Bartkowiak born December 15, 1881.
The various family member all became farmers in North Dakota around Barnes and Stutsman County in such townships as Big Hampton, Rose, Fried or Jamestown. Also the various family members decided to change the original name to different spellings and these are the ones used such as Glowartz, Glowack, Glowach or Glowac though we are all related.
As fars as coming to America from Russia I do know that John and his wife Tina (Teofila) came through Ellis Island as well as his brother Frank and his wife Sophiain the early 1900's to farm in Fingal, North Dakota. Carl came with Andrew Bartkowiak and his friend and most likely were related to Frank Sadek. The left Antwerp. Belgium June 1908 and arrived in Quebec, Canada in July 1908 of the same year on the Steamship the S.S. Montrose. They then boarded the Candian Pacific Railway and came into the United States. They had to fill out border cards that were later filed at St. Albans, Vermont when they crossed. Their final destination was Frank Glowacz's farm in Fingal, North Dakota.
It was explained that Carl had wanted to bring his brother over from Russia around the 1930's but was unable to. Frank Sadek was able to able to have his brother Edward Sadek come over. Also Frank brought Sophia's parents over from Russia named Brunnershevsky though I am not sure if onbe parent or both and they are buried in a cemetery in Fried, North Dakota along with other family members.
I am looking for more information and pictures that people can add to what I already have so I can piece all the families lineage for those to see and share.
